 Hi everyone!

The next Evergreen community Bug Squashing Week will take place next week
from March 15-19.

*Goals for Testers:*

   - *Cleanup #webstaffclient: *There are 476 reported bugs that have the
   webstaffclient tag
   <https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bugs?field.tag=webstaffclient>,
and that tag is no longer very useful as it used to be because nearly
everything is using the web-based staff client now. This week, let's focus
on going through those bugs, removing the webstaffclient tag, and replacing
it with one or more official tags
   <https://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=dev:lp_tags> that are more
specific. (Many of the open bugs already have other tags that are fine, so
for those, just delete the webstaffclient tag. We just don't want to leave
any bugs hanging with *no* tags, because then they aren't as discoverable.)
As you are going through them, please add heat if they affect you, or make
note of any that have already been fixed in other work.
   - *Test proposed fixes: *Thanks to MOBIUS, Equinox, and PINES, we will
   have several community test servers
   <https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wCOjCAfG82ZLpCQckPmCbrUrpZZuCcZF7ECQJKQgc0c/edit#gid=0>
updated to the current Evergreen version with patches loaded and ready for
testing. If you find errors with the proposed fix, make detailed notes of
those errors at the relevant Launchpad link. If the proposed fix tests
   successfully, follow the signoff instructions
   <https://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=dev:bug_squashing>.
   - *"New" bugs and wish list requests:* Review bugs with the "New" status
   <https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bugs?field.searchtext=&orderby=-importance&search=Search&field.status%3Alist=NEW&field.status%3Alist=TRIAGED&assignee_option=any&field.assignee=&field.bug_reporter=&field.bug_commenter=&field.subscriber=&field.structural_subscriber=&field.tag=&field.tags_combinator=ANY&field.has_cve.used=&field.omit_dupes.used=&field.omit_dupes=on&field.affects_me.used=&field.has_patch.used=&field.has_branches.used=&field.has_branches=on&field.has_no_branches.used=&field.has_no_branches=on&field.has_blueprints.used=&field.has_blueprints=on&field.has_no_blueprints.used=&field.has_no_blueprints=on>:
Verify the reported problems and mark them confirmed, add tags
   <https://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=dev:lp_tags> to make them
more discoverable, or mark duplicates if they had already been reported.
   - *Old bugs and wish list requests: *Test old bugs
   <https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bugs?orderby=id&start=0> to see
if they are still valid. If they are, add feedback to confirm that they are
still valid in the Evergreen version you are working on. If they are no
longer valid, add feedback explaining as such.

*Goal for Core Committers:* Review and commit the ~55 pullrequests that
have already been end-user-tested and signed off
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/?field.searchtext=&search=Search&field.status%3Alist=NEW&field.status%3Alist=CONFIRMED&field.status%3Alist=TRIAGED&field.status%3Alist=INPROGRESS&field.status%3Alist=INCOMPLETE_WITH_RESPONSE&field.status%3Alist=INCOMPLETE_WITHOUT_RESPONSE&assignee_option=any&field.assignee=&field.bug_reporter=&field.bug_commenter=&field.subscriber=&field.structural_subscriber=&field.tag=pullrequest%20signedoff&field.tags_combinator=ALL&field.has_cve.used=&field.omit_dupes.used=&field.omit_dupes=on&field.affects_me.used=&field.has_patch.used=&field.has_branches.used=&field.has_branches=on&field.has_no_branches.used=&field.has_no_branches=on&field.has_blueprints.used=&field.has_blueprints=on&field.has_no_blueprints.used=&field.has_no_blueprints=on&orderby=-date_last_updated&start=0>.

*Goal for Developers: *As always, there is plenty of work to choose from,
but one thing that would be helpful in moving things along is to check work
that you've submitted already that hasn't been signed off on yet, and see
if it just needs a rebase or if it needs additional tweaks in order to get
it tested. There are 64 patches that have been given the needsrepatch tag
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bugs?field.tag=needsrepatch> - if
any of these are yours, please take a look!

If you are new to Feedback Fest / bug testing, feel free to contact me
directly at tmccanna at georgialibraries.org with questions. I'll be happy to
help walk you through the process so that you are more comfortable with it.

See you all next week!
Terran
