I would hesitate to attempt to build in an external search to retrieve
matching titles based on ISBN (at least in the initial project) for several
reasons - 1) anything involving 3rd party resources that may or not be
available in all countries needs to be optional and configurable 2) the
user may not actually want records with non-matching ISBNs, and 3)
publishers have been known to re-use the same ISBNs for unrelated titles.
I do think that it could be useful if the search had a metarecord search
option so that the user could choose to retrieve the grouped
formats/edition records if they wanted to.
