Hi,

Dan Scott and I have started informal inquiries among the developers to find out if we have enough potential mentors to apply to GSoC this year. But so as to not put the cart too far ahead of the horse, I'd like to pose a couple questions to the board.

[1] Does anybody have an concerns or questions about GSoC?

[2] If not, I'd then like to call a vote endorsing myself and Dan Scott as GSoC administrators for this year and given us formal permission to apply to GSoC on behalf of the project. Of course, this isn't exclusive; volunteers welcome.

[3] Are there any board members who can lean on experienced Evergreen developers to volunteer to be mentors this year? For what it's worth, I've started the conversation within Equinox to that point.

More information about GSoC can be found at http://code.google.com/soc/. In particular, please seehttp://www.google-melange.com/document/show/gsoc_program/google/gsoc2012/faqs#payments; if the Evergreen Project gets accepted, $500 per student developer we get would go to the sponsoring project.

Regards,

Galen
