Thanks for checking on this.  I agree that this is a great cause but waiting until summer 2013 will allow us to see how we fare with this year's conference and to come up with a concrete plan for such an internship.   

When we host the community meeting to discuss projects for potential grant opportunities, perhaps we can discuss ideas for an OPW candidate?

I spoke with Bradley and Tony. The SFC decided to promote OPW to its member projects only very recently, so unless somebody is willing to pledge sponsorship on the spot, there's very little time to put our hat in for the winter session. *However*, both Bradley and Tony think that it is very likely that OPW will run a summer program in 2013. Consequently, unless somebody feels moved to commit the additional funds now, I suggest that we look to the summer.

I think that would be reasonable as long as we can back out if we don't find enough co-sponsorship money. I've asked Bradley whether the Conservancy can work with such an arrangement.
