Hi all,
Below are the updates from the Evergreen Outreach Committee:
LOGOS
Outreach Committee member Meme Marlow has put out a survey to get
community feedback on the shortlist of round / square logo options that
were provided by the logo designer.
MERCHANDISE
We have made selections for items that will be available at the
merchandise booth at the annual conference. In addition to the t-shirts
we sold last year, we will be selling the new quote t-shirt ("You never
know what trouble you can get into by reading the documentation.") as
well as stickers and bottle openers.
We have sold 24 conference t-shirts. These are sold separately from
other merchandise because we would be unable to sell any leftover stock
in future years.
ANNUAL REPORT
Work continues on the 2017 community annual report.
ALA
I have put out a call for donations to support our Midwinter Outreach
program. At this time, we need about $625 more in contributions to cover
the cost of a/v.
We have submitted a proposal for our program at ALA Annual. The details
are available here -
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WG7M9rqhKgJAlslQe2h1hjgRFQ1zdQfGB-o8nyfwVuA/edit?usp=sharing
The Outreach Committee discussed our return on investment on these
programs now that we have scheduled them for more than two years. We get
a decent turnout at ALA Annual, but turnout is low at Midwinter. It is
also difficult to find presenters for Midwinter. We were all in
agreement that it might be better to forgo the Midwinter program and
focus our efforts on Annual. We might also want to consider supporting
the cost of a/v if we focus on the one program and potentially getting
sponsors to help support the program. We do not require a/v for the
upcoming program at Annual, so we do have time to discuss and consider
our options.
