Is the offiial art in git somewhere? I can pass it by someone here if it will help. Is might be usefull to document the team colors :-) The is not something that should block swag, however.

Lori Bowen Ayre <lori.ayre@galecia.com> wrote:

I don't think there was any issue with the color. We don't really have any "design" people on the web team so I don't think they would be the ones to ask. Probably okay to stick with your design folks at PINES.
I agree with Dan on being hesitant to change the logo. However, I seem to remember the green color being difficult to work with. Lori, do you think the website team would want to tweak the green a bit before we proceed?
Hurray for swag!
If no interest in changing the logo in any way, fine by me. Go forward with swag!
My recollection (and again no citation) is vague but I think the
discussion centered around merchandising opportunities.

My opinion is that if you change a logo just to change it ... well,
you dilute it's purpose. Unless someone came up with an amazing
design that had huge advantages I don't think it would be worthwhile.
With that said, if someone was really passionate about this I'd let
them come up with proposals and consider them (even if my gut feeling
is that it's a waste of time and the odds of my being proven wrong on
this are slim). But, it doesn't seem that anyone is passionate.
We're groping around for the resources. We seem to be doing it
because once upon a time it was discussed. I've been happy to let the
conversation lapse into non-existence and would be glad to do so
again.
