            <br>
            After some discussion with Kathy and Amy, and following the
            example of<br>
            ALA, Code4Lib, and numerous technical conferences, I would
            like to<br>
            propose that Evergreen adopt a code of conduct for events
            such as the<br>
            conference and hackaways.  The purpose of the code would be
            to<br>
            emphasize that such events are welcome to all, and to back
            up that<br>
            welcome with a clear procedure for redress if somebody
            should be<br>
            harassed.<br>
            <br>
            To be clear, to my knowledge there have been no incidents of<br>
            harassment at any Evergreen conference or other event; the
            reason for<br>
            instituting a policy now is to be prepared in case of future
            incidents<br>
            and to stand in solidarity with other inclusive events and<br>
            organizations.<br>
