I think a task force is a great idea. System admin people should be included, as well as, cataloguers.

Objet : [Evergreen-catalogers] Testing RDA records in Evergreen

I've had a chance to look at some RDA records in Evergreen and I've attached some documentation (Microsoft Word) that goes through how I've found RDA records and tested them in Evergreen. I thought this might be useful for the community.

I'm also wondering if we need some more organization in terms of looking at RDA and Evergreen, from a cataloging perspective, so we all aren't wondering about how RDA will impact cataloging in Evergreen. Any thoughts? Perhaps a task force of some sort, that looks at the issues as they come up and produces any bugs and reports them to the community?

So far Evergreen seems to handle RDA fairly well, but there are known bugs. For those who aren't aware here they are:

TPAC RDA 264 Publisher info Display and index:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1071505

RDA 336, 337, 338
https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1125621

I'm not sure if the copyright symbol bug/issue has been reported yet. It probably should at some point.

How would the Evergreen developers like RDA bugs to be reported to the community? I'm sure there will be more upcoming as we get a chance to see more RDA records.
