[Evergreen-catalogers] Overlaying records

Hello Evergreen Catalogers,

Im double-checking my notes from the Conference in Vancouver (great one BTW!) and I have a note saying that merging a record doesn't merge MARC fields. It only merges copies. Is this true?

If one wanted to merge, they would need to copy & paste fields into the preferred record and then merge copies. Is this correct?
