IMO,

Yes, you can ignore $4 and $e in the name heading to make a match in the
authority record. The authority link would be for that name, not for
their relator term or code. Very common in DVD items to have a name in
one MARC record with different relator codes or terms than in another MARC
record depending upon the person's role in that film.

Shrek 2 MARC Record
 700 1_$aAdamson, Andrew,$efilm director,$escreenwriter.

Shrek MARC Record
 700 1_$aAdamson, Andrew,$efilm director.

We would want a link to both of these $700 even though they have different
relator terms.

Hi,

I'd like to call the attention of Evergreen catalogers to the following
bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1465830

At the moment, the presence of a relator term or code in a name heading in
a bib record will prevent the authority linking script from linking the
bib heading to the authority record that should control it. Can folks
confirm whether subfields $e and $4 in name should always be ignored when
looking for a matching authority record?

Regards,

Galen
