Hi Everyone,
I was asked to test the multilingual searching on our training server,
3.2.4. I see this is a new feature and there's a bug LP# 1733695. I read
the specs for the development, but am not getting what it is supposed to
do. I can do a search for multiple languages by using the CTRL key to
highlight more than one choice. This is a boolean OR search. Is the
multilingual search supposed to find records with both languages such as
bilingual texts?
I know I am searching the languages in the 041 field because doing a search
for *black panther boseman* limited to French brings up the English
language DVD that is also dubbed and subtitled in French. If I hold down
the CTRL key and choose French and Chinese I still get the same two records
as we don't have this DVD dubbed or subtitles in Chinese, so the boolean
search is French OR Chinese.
I think I'm missing something obvious but don't know what.
Janet
PS: At least it isn't those double vision subject headings. 🙂
