[Evergreen-catalogers] Using an External MARC Editor for Batch Updates

Hello List, 

I'm wondering if anyone is batch exporting MARC records from Evergreen, for the purposes of advanced editing in an external MARC editor, such as MARCEdit or PyMarc? I'd like to export a bucket of say 500 MARC records, make some changes in MARCEdit, and then import/overlay the new records onto the old records in Evergreen in a batch process. Is anyone doing something like this, and might you have procedures or documentation that you'd be willing to share?
