profile? I know that there is an “all” code that replaces a record completely but what if you want a “true” merge, i.e. new records being imported add to but never replace existing fields within a MARC record? I thought the tags not specified in a profile
would be left alone if the profile had “add” fields only. i.e. for an “Add Subjects” profile, it would only add the additional 650 rows and NOTHING else (no other tag) is replaced when the profile specifies nothing in any of the other “preserve, remove, replace”
columns. In testing, our existing profiles produce inconsistent results. It looks like if tags are set to “preserve” with no other add/remove/replace definitions set, the preserved tags are “preserved” and kept upon import but all other tags are replaced?<o:p></o:p></span></p>
