Hello everyone,

I am the Web Services Librarian at the Commonwealth Medical College in Scranton, PA. We use Serials Solutions to manage our electronic resources and Evergreen via Equinox for our online catalog. Our collection is more than 95% digital.

I’m wondering if anyone can give me some guidance on what to do concerning uploading 360 MARC records from Serials Solutions into Evergreen. Our previous vendor took care of manually changing the 035 fields in the Changed monograph/serial
records to create matches. The previous vendor also batch processed the deleted monograph/serial records on the server end…. while I would upload the NEW monograph/serial records into Evergreen on my own from my workstation.

Is there anyone out there who is uploading and processing your 360 MARC records from Serials Solutions into Evergreen on their own without the assistance of your Evergreen vendor? How have you been able to successfully upload the 360 MARC
records if there are non-matching records, and how do you process the deletes? If you are using your vendor to do this process, how does it work?

Any insight would be helpful as I was told by our previous vendor that this process is very time consuming on their end, and that we were the only library they knew of who was uploading records from Serials Solutions this way.
