The 4xx fields display with a <i>See </i>reference to the term in the 1xx fields. The 5xx field creates <i>See also</i> references. As far as I know this only happens with browse searching and does not get included in advanced searches.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif">Before this was working I was editing the authority record (<gasp>) to include the alternate form of the name as a qualifier. The system updated all the headings linked to the authority record, some unlinked headings I edited manually. I preferred this to adding 700 fields or indexing the 245|c as it can be undone just as easily. It certainly stopped most complaints about the main entry not matching the name on the item.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif">Thus the main entry of <i>Pelzer, David J</i>. would look like <i>Pelzer, David J. to work, because it's nothing like authority catalogs I've used in the past. At the Evergreen pre-conference, there's a whole morning workshop about authorities, so I'm hoping to learn a lot that day.
