[Evergreen-general] Pick Up Later

Hi Eva

Thanks, I didn’t consider extending the shelf pick up time. I think the staff were really interested in moving the item along to the next person but keeping the current patron in the same spot in the queue.

Hi Elizabeth,

If I understand your question correctly, you are asking how to extend the date by which the item on the hold shelf is to be picked up?

If so, then

  * go to Hold Shelf under the Circulation menu,
  * in the Actions for selected items, choose Edit Hold Dates,
  * and edit the Shelf Expire Date.
I am not sure whether there might be a library setting preventing changes to shelf expiration dates if the item is in the status Ready for Pickup; however, I am not aware of such a setting.

Hope this helps

Eva

Hi

Similar to the “Deliver Later” in Overdrive’s Libby, staff were wondering how they can easily suspend a hold when it’s in the ready for pick up status. They had a few patrons over the summer who were unable to pick up items like museum passes because they were leaving for vacation in the next day or two.

My two suggestions were either use find another target and then suspend it via edit hold dates or the more complicated cancel the hold, replace it, send the patron to the top of queue and suspend it. Does anyone else have a different workflow? Is there any interest in a wishlist bug for a pickup later option?

Thanks,
