[Evergreen-general] Staff Portal page customization

Anyone have any tips and tricks for customizing the staff portal page
(avail beginning 3.9)? I've tried to do it twice, messed a bunch of stuff
up both times, and have been too scared to try again. I thought I was
following along beautifully with the documentation, but apparently not!   :)
