<div dir="ltr">We have a dozen barcode numbers that are used and reused for ILLS. The ILL clerk adds title and author and format to the ILL record, attaches the barcode to the ILL strap, and places a hold for the patron. She checks in the barcode which triggers a transit to the patron's pickup branch. When it is checked in at the pickup branch, the patron receives an automated notification. The owning branch is HQ so when the ILL is returned and checked in, it is routed back to headquarters where the barcode is cleared for its next use and the ILL is returned to the lending library.<div><br></div><div><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><font face="arial black, sans-serif">Diane Disbro</font></div><div dir="ltr"><div>Pronouns: she/her</div><div>Circulation Coordinator</div><div>Scenic Regional Library</div><div>251 Union Plaza Drive</div><div>Union, MO 63084</div><div>(636) 583-0652 ext 110</div><div><span style="font-family:Raleway"><font color="#000000"><a href="mailto:ddisbro@scenicregional.org" target="_blank">ddisbro@scenicregional.org</a></font></span></div><div><span style="font-family:Raleway"><font color="#000000"><br></font></span></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Tue, Jan 3, 2023 at 9:39 AM Murphy, Benjamin via Evergreen-general <<a href="mailto:evergreen-general@list.evergreen-ils.org">evergreen-general@list.evergreen-ils.org</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div class="msg4587177412408523439">

<p class="MsoNormal">Current behavior we're getting is that the ILL item comes in, the staff add it as a pre-cat item, goes to the Item Status screen, scans it and places an item hold for the item for the patron. When the item is then checked in to capture
the hold it says "send to cataloging" because its been added as a pre-cat item. That adds a level of complexity that we're hoping to avoid.

<p class="MsoNormal">Our goal is to have a scenario where the ILL item can be efficiently placed on hold for the patron and then the ILL item can be removed once it has been circulated. Do any of you have a process you use? Do you have a bib record specifically
for ILL items that you add items to? Do you have some other method that allows for the patron to be notified of the available hold and when it is due?<u></u><u></u></p>
