Yes! Absolutely it should b easier to install. One improvement that
we've talked about is merging OpenSRF into the Evergreen project. I
think that would go a long way. And removing some of the decisions
for first-time installers. Such as whether or not to use NGINX.
Perhaps the installer should just do it (because pretty much
everyone has decided that NGINX reigns supreme for the brunt of the
internet traffic)<br>
<br>
But now this topic has evolved. Perhaps would be better suited in a
different thread. Or perhaps a Launchpad thread. I went ahead and
filed a <a href="https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/2086803">Launchpad
bug</a>. I also went ahead and added it as a <a
href="https://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=hack-a-way:hack-a-way-2024#discussion_topics">discussion
topic</a> for next week at the hack-away.<br>

we can agree that there is still some work that needs to be
done, one way or another, to improve the installation, to make
it easier and more reliable. Most of the people here have
already installed it (I guess), so improving the installation
is not their priority or concern, but it might be important
for newcomers like me.</div>
