Elizabeth,

I don't think anyone wants to abandon any of those ideas.  The
Communications Committee is committed to addressing many of the issues you
raise and it doesn't matter one way or the other if that committee is
formalized in the governance documents now or not.

The problem is hashing out ALL of this stuff is turning up issues that
require more discussion (and perhaps broadening the group doing the
discussing) and I don't think we really want to stop the piece we all seem
to agree is critical by trying to bite it all off at once.
