Evergreen Online Conference Nets 350 Participants

Over 350 attendees participated in the first Evergreen International Online
Conference held June 9 through 11. Always quick to adapt, the open source
community of Evergreen users moved to an online conference as a late
substitution for the in-person Evergreen International Conference that had
been scheduled for April in Atlanta but was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Most of the original presenters moved their programs online, plus the
program included some interest group discussions and even a virtual happy
hour to allow participants to mingle online in a more social setting. Sessions
included OPAC usability, reports, security, database updating, self-check
and coming enhancements.

The average registrant attended six online sessions among the 23 sessions
presented in two simultaneous tracks over three afternoons. The conference
also included a keynote by John Rempel. John oversees initiatives related
to digital accessibility and user experience (UX), including the AccessGA
and Web Accessibility Group (WAG), services to Higher Ed, non-profits and
industry in Georgia and across the country.

The sessions were recorded and are now available on The Evergreen Project
YouTube channel in accessible format.
