[OPEN-ILS-DEV] Getting my staff client logged on

I did try resetting the admin password using:

update actor.usr set passwd='my string' where id=1

so I was sure I know the password. I got a certificate error and tried to accept it temporarily or permanently and I still get the Network error mentioned below. Phooey.

Any idea why I can't get in to my new server waiting for data? We thought we had all the ports unblocked for me to come in. Dale who installed the software can get in from his client. But he does not have the client from the wiki that I was using to get at demo.gapines.org

Frances

Oh, good. We did that and now I get OK for Version.

However, I get a certificate error. I tried to get by that and in Authentication I'm using Username: admin and Password: open-ils as I believe that's what the wiki said. But I get:

Network Failure
Network/server failure. Please check your Internet connection to undefined and choose retry ...

method=open-ils.auth.authenticate complete
params=[{username":"admin","password":"775 ...","type":"temp"}]
THROWN:
Null
STATUS:

So I can't get on. Can anybody help? Thanks.

Someone will correct me, if I am wrong, but I think the problem has to do with the versioning on the client.
If you download the client, it will be : rel_1_2_2_0
If you look at the steps in: http://www.open-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=mozilla-devel:building_the_staff_client you see you need a directory in /openils/var/web/xul/rel_1_2_2_0
Just go through the steps found on the wiki, and change 12345 to rel_1_2_2_0 and you should be ok.
I had the same problem when I installed my server

I have a 1.2.2.0 client downloaded from the Evergreen site, which I have used pointing to demo.gapines.org

Now we have a local version of Evergreen up with no data in it and I tried to access it with that client by typing in the new host name. (I can reach that host on the opac web site and the postgres db using AquaData Studio). But I cannot get logged on it says:

Status   200 : OK

Version  404 : Not found

Window is "Server does not support your version of the staff client. Please check with your system administrator.

Yesterday, I uninstalled and reinstalled that client from the Evergreen download at the wiki. It still had the demo.gapines.org host with the workstation I had set up, but I tried to enter my new host again and couldn't get on.

We are on 1.2.2.0 I believe and Dale is able to get on with a client. I am wondering if it is causing a problem for me because I was set up and using the other demo site?
