Beth,
Re-saving or reimporting the record often adds the fingerprint to the MARC xml. A work around if you don't add large numbers of records to your database.

Steve,
Although we are not in production mode yet, we have noticed the
inability to search by anything other than the TCN right after the
import of a Z39.50 record. Once I edited the record, however, (after
finding it by TCN) it was then searchable by title, author, etc..
