Rush,

I can get the whole system running fine with about 512Mb of RAM alloted.  Just close out of the VM, hit settings, then under System change the base memory (1.5 gigs seems a little high for LXDE).

Another useful thing is installing Guest Editions (if it isn't already) as this allows you to do seamless mode with your normal desktop, and shared copy/paste.

I have VBox up and running, but I'm bumping into resource (RAM) issues.  Was hoping that VMWare might run a little lighter.

Guess I'll have to see about getting my hands on a beefier machine to test with.

Hi Rush:

I have no recent experience with VMWare products but have heard that
importing standard OVF files, even with the additional OVF import
tools, is a pain.

I recommend using VirtualBox (available from http://virtualbox.org) as
that's what the images have been created with.
