We are on Ubuntu 10.04 in our dev environment (no problems), but not yet
upgraded on production (but will be moving soon on prod to 10.04 to
ensure 2.x compatibility).

We're not a large site -- only 450k records.

Subject: [OPEN-ILS-DEV] OS platforms - Ubuntu 10.04 & Debian squeeze

Hi all,

I wanted to do an informal poll of the Evergreen Community about which
Linux distributions you're running in production environments and which
versions you've tested. With the release of squeeze, and Debian's long,
but fairly unpredictable release cycle, GPLS is also looking at Ubuntu
10.04 as a potential candidate. So....

Who out there is using Ubuntu in production? Anybody on 10.04 yet? Any
negative results from testing?

Who out there is using Debian squeeze? I'm seeing that there is at
least one dependency problem (syslog-ng/libdbi0) out there.

I'd be interested in experiences on other distros as well, but GPLS is
mainly a Debian/Ubuntu shop and we don't have plans to move away from
them at the moment.

I appreciate any opinions on this, especially from large-scale Evergreen
deployments!

Thanks,

Chris
