Hi,

I'm Ashesh Kaushik, a 3rd year student at the BITS PILANI University in
India. I'm highly interested in working on the following project Ideas, as
listed on the ideas page for GSoC '12 :

1. Modernize Evergreen's Web Interface
2. Translate certain search-related SQL query components to C-based stored
procedures

I'm proficient with web technologies, including HTML, CSS and JavaScripts.
I'm also excellent with Object Oriented Programming and have knowledge
about C, C++, Python and Java.

As I understand it, in the first project, the main task is just to revamp
the interface by enabling the use of Dojo 1.7 instead of the 1.3 currently
in use. The second project mainly requires the writing of procedures in C
using string-manipulation to club together related search queries written
in SQL.

Is there anything I'm missing out on on these projects? Also, if I've got
it right, can you please advise me as to how to go about preparing the
proposals for the ideas and what major points to include and focus on?
Mentors have a better idea of what exactly needs to be implemented and I
would like to reach as close to that goal as possible.

Looking forward to receiving helpful guidance.

Thanks,

Ashesh Kaushik
