Yamil,

The simple "self-check" doesn't use SIP2. It uses a special "patron
profile" called "Selfcheck" if I recall correctly.

I do believe there is a new version of this found at a different URL,
rather than " https://[hostname]/opac/extras/selfcheck/selfcheck.xml"
that's in the docs currently. Try
https://[hostname]/eg/circ/selfcheck/main and see how that treats you.

You should be able login with a user created with the "Selfcheck" profile.

Subject: [OPEN-ILS-DEV] Need feedback for moving and updating SIP
documentation to EG 2.4 docs

Hello,

I am working on moving EG 1.6 documentation that is missing form EG
2.4 documentation. I ran into this SP related section that I believe is
not found in later official docs...

-------------------
http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/1.6/draft/html/simpleselfcheck.html

[EG 1.6] Chapter 10. Simple Self Check Interface
* Using the Self Check Interface
* Customizing the Self Check Interface
-------------------

I don't know anything about SIP, so I need to know if this " Simple Self
Check Interface" section is still relevant to EG 2.4, and if it can be
moved as is or does it need a lot of updating.

In addition, I also noticed that only the 1.6 and 2.0 official docs cover
the installation of a SIP server, with the 2.0 version having some small
updates and some grammar fixes in place.

-------------------
http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/2.0/draft/html/sipserver.html

[EG 2.0] Chapter 15. SIP Server
* Installing the SIP Server
* SIP Communication
--------------------

Pardon my lack of knowledge of SIP, but how out of date is the 2.0 version
for use in the 2.4 official docs? If it only needs a few fixes I can try
to put them in with my intern, if I am sent some simple update
instructions (no AsciiDoc needed). Perhaps there are some more recent
local SIP documentation from another library we can use for at least the
basics of SIP installation.

Thanks in advance,
Yamil
