[OPEN-ILS-DEV] Thoughts on having IRC practice meeting

Up until this message I've been using Hexchat, but I like Quassel better now that I've given it a go. A lot easier to work with from start to channel.

Thanks,

Chatzilla, which is a Firefox add-on, is a very easy to use IRC client. It's what I used before "graduating" to Quassel.
I'd be happy to do a few screencasts of getting Chatzilla and a few other clients connected to IRC and the Evergreen channel if you think that would be helpful.

On my Mac laptop I use Limechat which is quite spiffy. If I'm on my linux box I use xchat.

I am no expert, but on a Mac I use Colloquy, because I noticed others in the EG community using it at some point. I like the feature of having a list of words that I want to know if others have mentioned it on the IRC channel, and I assume most IRC programs have this feature.

I use Quassel myself, as do a number of my colleagues at ESI. The other graphical client in common use is here is Chatzilla.

Some of our developers use irssi or other command-line clients, but I would not recommend that for folks new to IRC.
