I mentioned this in the email I sent just now, but this may be worth a separate thread.

I'd like to call folks attention to the discussion at the end of the following bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1505286

I had inadvertently introduced an idiom that doesn't work in Pg 9.1.
While it's easy to resolve that and make the stored procedures compatible with 9.1, the situation sparked a discussion of whether to deprecate support for 9.1.

I encourage folks to read the discussion in the bug, but my position is that we should:

* announce a deprecation of 9.1 with the release of Evergreen 2.10
* officially de-support 9.1 with the release of Evergreen 2.11 in the fall.

Thoughts?
