[OPEN-ILS-DOCUMENTATION] post-conference

It was great meeting so many of you at the Evergreen conference last week! 
I really feel that we do now have the critical mass to keep momentum going 
on Evergreen documentation, and, just as importantly, the beginnings of a 
shared vision of what we want to achieve and the broad strokes of how to 
get there.

For those of you who weren't at our Athens meeting, we had a 3-hour slot 
Wednesday afternoon, which to me was quite fun, productive, and exciting. 
Karen Schneider gave an overview of the history of Evergreen 
documentation, and various issues we need to consider (available online at 
http://www.slideshare.net/evergreenils/evergreen-docs-planning-session-2009). 
A handout based on a document I posted on this list was distributed (and 
I've attached it here). Then we had a free-ranging discussion on where to 
go from here. Karen and I volunteered to take the initial leadership roles 
for the group. The group coalesced on Evergreen Documentation 
Implementation [or Interest?] Group for our name, allowing us to be 
DIGGERs. :-) I am attaching the (very informal) notes I took at that 
meeting. Also, Karen gave a lightning talk on Friday morning, summarizing 
the Wednesday discussion (her slides are at 
http://www.slideshare.net/evergreenils/evergreen-documentation-lightning-talk).

Karen and I are planning to have the next meeting of the group during the 
week of June 8, in webinar format. We're working out the logistics for the 
meeting, and an agenda--we'll send something out next week. In the 
meantime, you may want to  peruse the meeting notes, and start thinking 
about how you and/or your organization may want to be involved.
