Hi Karen,

I put your files in the repository at:

I also added the content to my test server at: http://libdog.mohawkcollege.ca/evergreen_documentation/draft/html/index.html. The files looked good and they were able to be processed by the docBook processer so I did not have to make any changes.

Karen, If you want to edit the files directly from the Github repository, you could set up a free github account. Then, let me know your github username and I can add you as a contributor to the repository. You can then edit the content from github using your browser. This is great for quick minor edits, but it is not as effective for longer edits since some of the "version control" benefits are lost in this type of editing. While testing with Repke, we found that things get messy when 2 people edit the same file at the same time. Also note that if you make changes to the repository, they will not be reflected on my test site. I would have to pull the changes to my test server.

A few more questions for the Documentation Group:

1) Is anyone working on the Public OPAC section? I do not see anyone signed up for this section. If not, Does anyone have any simple text documents for 1.6 they could send to be converted to XML? Anything at all? If I get content in a word or other text format, I can convert to XML and get it into the repository.

2) Is anyone working on the Development section? Any text documents out there? Any raw text notes from any developers which would be useful for documentation?

I've been working on Part I (Introduction) of the user guide as outlined here: http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=evergreen-docs:outline.  I have some content for the intro to the intro as well as the first chapter (About Evergreen).  I wrote it in Word and then took a stab at creating some DocBook XML files and I'm attaching both formats.

Does anyone have any feedback, corrections, or suggestions?  Is it ready for the repository Robert set up (http://github.com/rsoulliere/Evergreen-DocBook)?  If so, Robert, could you add it, or help me figure out how?

(By the way, I'd like to heartily encourage anyone with documentation they think is ready to be included, regardless of whether it's in docbook format or not, to submit it to the list, like I'm doing.)
