I would be tempted to try and stick to the terms of the call for
proposals; Google / FLOSS Manuals presumably wants to be able to say "We
created X new books!" rather than "We updated / filled in gaps in
existing documentation!". (That's pure conjecture on my part, not based
on any inside knowledge.)
In that vein, Robert's suggestion for a getting started guide would be
an appropriately-sized standalone project that would also be able to be
integrated into our existing documentation after the fact. I think that
would have particular value if there was also a focus on the "Getting
started with a production system" section; in the IRC channel we've
noted that there are all kinds of knobs to tweak and tune that new sites
trip over. It would be a real win to come away with a book that closes
that gap.
