I often use "select" in my documentation. 

But I use it for everything, so there are a lot of "select [word] from dropdown" vs. "select [word] button" vs. "select [word] from menu" etc. 

Clear, but not concise.

Now that I read my own words, am eager to hear better suggestions. . .
