You probably wouldn't want to virtualize the database proper for
anything but a small library (too many layers of caching), but
everything else is probably fair game, and it might be a good way to
manage things.  I think I heard Mike say Xen could virtualize postgres
efficiently.

I love vmware for testing the staff client, and if I find time, I'll
probably polish up a linux version of the staff client to distribute
with vmplayer (maybe with a small knoppix or ubuntu distribution).
