Thanks for responding Elaine,
We are using 1.6.0.2 and editing in the grid. Then in the 008 field for language we'll get additional letters ie. "e en eng"

Anne,

What version of Evergreen are you using? It was a bug in earlier versions and had been fixed. We are on 1.4.0.7 and it doesn't occur (it was fixed much earlier, I thought)

Also, are you editing in the grid or directly in the 008?

Elaine

This follows up on the thread "Question modifying fixed fields in a MARC record"

We've noticed that after editing a fixed field such as adding "eng" in Lang field, after clicking on "Save Record" the "eng" disappears in the Lang field and strange letters appear in other fixed fields, for example "ng" in Ills field, "ne" in the Ctry field and "e e" in the Date 2 field.

Is this a bug that needs to be fixed?

Have others experienced this, or found ways to get around it?

Thanks
