Is there any other way to share a template besides an export/import
mechanism or communicating in SQL?

To be clear for those who are unfamiliar with reporting in Evergreen,
the reports mechanism in Evergreen does support both canned reports
and templates where you can fill in variables for customized reports.
And one can always clone a canned report and remove some of the preset
filter variables to turn it into a new template.
The only piece that is missing, based on my reading of the discussion
in the area of canned reports / templates, is the ability to export
and import report templates from one Evergreen system to another - and
then, assuming that functionality gets added, we would need some sort
of community process to decide which templates to add into a base
install.
