I have installed OpenSRF 1.2.2 and Evergreen 1.6.0.2 on a Ubuntu
Intrepid (8.10) server that is connected to the internet through our
network switch. I can get the internal IP address (10.0.55.203) of the
Evergreen server and can access the Evergreen server from another
computer inside the library.

That sounds like an uninstalled dependency. Try:
sudo apt-get install policykit
I ran this command and installed the 'policykit'. I then restarted the
server, stopped Apache, stopped OpenSRF, then restared OpenSRF. At this
point I ran the autogen.sh command. The troubleshooting guide says the
output should look like:
Updating fieldmapper
Updating web_fieldmapper
....
Successfully updated the organization proximity
Done
What I get is:
Updating fieldmapper
Prototype mismatch: sub main::_LONG_MAX__() vs none at
/usr/lib/perl/5.10/_h2ph_pre.ph line 291.
Constant subroutine __LONG_MAX__ redefined at
/user/lib/perl/5.10/_h2ph_pre.ph line 291.

They all refer to ths same Perl command. Does this mean that something
else didn't get installed?
