Hi Amy / Web team:

Here's some feedback on feedback!

Under the agenda item:

 * Discussion of Community Input & Feedback Opps
    * Suggestion/feedback box and survey on RSCEL site
    * Can we get a link on open-ils.org to link to feedback page on
RSCEL site

I should note that there has been a feedback at evergreen-ils.org /
feedback at open-ils.org forwarding email address active for seemingly as
long as the open-ils.org domain name has been in existence; it is linked
from:

  * http://evergreen-ils.org/about.php
  * http://open-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=faqs:evergreen_faq_1
  * http://open-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=faqs:evergreen_faq_2
  *
http://www.open-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=faqs:evergreen_feature_request_procedures
  * http://evergreen-ils.org/blog/?p=13 (first record of its existence
in 2004 that I could find)

feedback at evergreen-ils.org is currently forwarded to Jason Etheridge and
me; to his credit, Jason has answered the lion's share of the questions
that come in, at the rate of about 3 or so per week (off the top of my
head).

There is also an email link on http://open-ils.org/listserv.php that
currently (somewhat oddly now that I see it) goes directly to Jason. I
guess it used to go directly to Karen Schneider, but in any case this
should arguably also point to the feedback at evergreen-ils.org email
address. I suppose the thinking at the time was that putting a human
name on the email link would be less impersonal...

Were you thinking of adding a link from open-ils.org to
http://rscel.evergreen-ils.org/contact ? If so, it would be nice if all
generic Evergreen feedback were funneled through the same procedure - so
the RSCEL contact form could direct feedback to the
feedback at evergreen-ils.org forwarding list, which could then be handled
by any of the feedback-monitoring volunteers.

(On that note: please, please, can we have some volunteers to help out
Jason and I?)

Dan Scott
