Vicki,
You should be able to use the migration_tools from ESI to get your
bibs and holdings loaded properly.
Have a look here to get a summary of the migration tools:

If you have git, you get the tools with at the following URL:
git://git.esilibrary.com/git/migration-tools.git
IIRC, the tools above can also help with loading patrons, but you need
to get the data out of your current ILS in a certain format.
