Some printers (such as the Star SP512) have a place to connect a cash drawer [1], then when you send a specific character (such as CONTROL G (ASCII 7)[2] to the printer, it is sent to the cash drawer and opens the cash drawer. 
In such a case, you could include this character in your bill/payment receipt templates and it would only open when you printed one of those receipts.
