[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Problem registering workstations

May I suggest that one we might want to look at the outlines

http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=evergreen-docs:outline
http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=evergreen-docs_2.0:outline

to see if a name is assigned to a specific chapter in question and send the change requests directly to the person who has volunteered to work on that chapter which will help coordinate efforts on a more localized level.

Preferably, it would be nice to have content coordinators to help coordinate content for different parts of the documentation and to ensure content gets added as it is suggested on list etc, but we did not get any volunteers for these roles.

In many cases it might be more effective to send content requests to a specific person or localized team for the part/chapter/section.

I am just afraid that sending requests to the DIG alone might result in some excellent requests slipping through the cracks without content coordinators in place since their is no one "officially" responsible for ensuring that DIG list requests/suggestions are added to all the correct places in the Docs.

Hi Vicki,

I'm glad you got your issue resolved. For future reference, since others will likely experience this issue (and because I'd already grabbed these screenshots), here's a brief guide to adding workstations:

Access the User Permission Editor either from a staff person's account (user_perm_editor.jpg) or through the Admin Menu's User Permission Editor.

Working locations are located above the permissions list (working_locs.jpg). Tip: if you add working locations, do not also edit permissions during the same "save" attempt. Changes will not stick if both working locations and permissions are edited at the same time.

The attached screenshots are from 2.0.2, but the process is the same in 1.6.x.x.

I'm sending this too the DIG list as well, since I don't think this is well documented. It could maybe be linked here: http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/1.6/draft/html/staffclientinstallation-running-staffclient.html#staffclientinstallation-workstationnames although other places would be appropriate, too.

No we didn't. When I put in the checks the problem was solved. Thank you.
