The instructions rely on a compatible version of xulrunner being
available on your Linux client, but I can say that recent versions
of XULRunner - as packaged with recent distros due to Firefox 6 / 7 /
etc updates - don't work with the staff client. Thus I downloaded
the Linux i686 XULRunner 1.9.2.17 tarball from
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla.org/xulrunner/releases/1.9.2.17/runtimes/
, untar it, and invoke the xulrunner binary directly from that, with
great success - at least for my testing and development purposes.
