[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] circ numbers after status change

We just noticed that an item that was marked as "missing" (but later returned to the library) no longer reflects the past number of circulations.  There is a SQL query I use to see individual circulation statistics for groups of items in our collection, and it is now returning a "0" for that one.  Is there any way to retain those past statistics when an item's status is changed to "missing?"
