[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] New IRC logging bot

Hi all,

This is a general announcement regarding improvements to the Evergreen
website infrastructure. As part of our ongoing work, we're going to
begin using a new logging tool for our IRC channels called ilbot (
http://moritz.faui2k3.org/en/ilbot). The logging bot is called "serflog"
and is in the three freenode IRC channels logged by Evergreen presently
-- #evergreen, #fulfillment, and the legacy channel #openils-evergreen.
ilbot provides a nicer frontend web interface for the IRC logs and some
new search and filtering options as well.

A major functional difference in employing this new logging system as
far as I can tell has been how we will skip logging a particular line.
In the past, we've used ! as the prefix of any line to be ignored by the
logs. From now on the prefix will be [off].

So, before:

! I don't want this logged

And after:

[off] I don't want this logged

The new logging web pages will become available soon in this coming week
and we'll be updating links on the main Evergreen website to point at
the new IRC log pages when that's ready. Another step in the ongoing
process will be converting all of our old flat-file logs into the new
database used by ilbot to preserve records of all the IRC conversations
we've shared over the years.

More to follow as soon as we continue work on this.

Thanks!
