[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Configuring Star TSP 100 on Linux workstation

My question is what are the printer settings inside of Evergreen. I know
from working with this printer, the printer settings inside Evergreen make a
difference in how this printer prints.

I've not worked on Evergreen on a Linux box, but the page settings in the
Printer Settings Editor under Admin, Workstation Administration is most
likely where the printer is having the problems. In the Page Settings, all
margins in Evergreen should be zero, and all Headers and Footers must be
blank. Check this for default and Receipts. The default set up is margins
at 0.5, and General internet Headers and footers.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Configuring Star TSP 100 on Linux workstation

Hi everyone,

I'm testing a new receipt printer, a Star Micronics TSP100, in Evergreen. We
use Evergreen 2.4, and our staff workstations run Linux Mint Debian Edition.
Unfortunately, I'm having trouble getting the receipts to print correctly.
The printer drivers are recognized, and all of programs are able to print to
the printer just fine. However, Evergreen seems to have issues with it. It
will only print if I have the paper size set to a "normal" size (e.g. US
letter). However, if I print to the printer with that size paper set, the
text is tiny (as in, 1-2 point font). If I have the paper size set to the
printer tape size (e.g. 72mm X 2000mm), then Evergreen simply won't print to
the printer at all.

Does anyone have any wisdom to impart on how I can get our receipts to
printer correctly? Is this something where I should be changing the font
size in the receipt template? Is there a way I can get Evergreen to
recognize the correct paper size? I've attached the printer settings.

Cheers!
Buzzy Nielsen
