[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Network error during staff client login

I had a working install but wanted to delete the sample data I had loaded,
and (to make a long story short) now I'm unable to login successfully in the
staff client, even though I was able to before.

I enter the server host name, the user name (egadmin) and password, and
click on Login; after a longish wait, I get the error below -- note
especially "no connection to the server" near the end.

I should mention that I can run /openils/bin/srfsh as the opensrf user and
"login egadmin ********" just fine.

Any ideas?  I used this command (retyping from memory but I'm pretty sure
it's right) as root on our server to clear the preloaded data:

# Open-ILS/src/support-scripts/eg_db_config --create-database --create-schema

And then this command as root to reset the egadmin password:

# Open-ILS/src/support-scripts/eg_db_config --update-config --service all --admin-user egadmin --admin-pass '********'
