If you're in PINES you will want to talk to your admins about the cleanup.
 I would recommend doing it automatically in batches rather than manually
but you certainly could do manual cleanups.   I do several related
cleanups, including this one, each year as a part of a New Year's
pre-spring cleaning of the database.
