[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Credit card readers and evergreen

We have been using a credit card reader on our self-check from http://cen-tec.com/  I am not sure how large an area they cover, but they have been working with us for many years.  They have some great programs.  Since the credit card reader is attached to the self-check, we never touch the patrons credit card.  We set a lower limit for the bill at $3.00, and the entire fine must be paid, but it is fully integrated with Evergreen.  The patron receives a receipt from the card reader with the total amount paid, and it is reflected on the Evergreen account immediately, as if it were paid in cash.  Our website, Mooresvillelib.org, has instructional videos for the self check and the card reader.

They recently installed touch-less screens for us, due to Covid 19.  Our patrons love the self checks and the credit card function.

Evergreen library staff,

We were curious if anybody had found a way to make credit card readers play nicely with evergreen. The information from the card doesn't parse correctly into the necessary fields. If anybody has a working solution, could they please share the process and the model of the reader they use? This would definitely be faster and more secure than typing it in manually.
