Hi Tiffany and all,

So I set this up in the Midwest provider profile but the publisher number is still not being sent in the EDI message.  It seems like this should work but the UPC is still sent instead.  I will continue to look at this and will report back if I find anything out.

Thanks again for your help Tiffany!

Thanks so much Tiffany!  This looks promising.  I'll let you know how it works out.

Hi Christine,

I have never looked at this at all before, so I can't make any claim whether it would work or not. Having said that, here's something to explore.

Looking at EDIWriter.pm, it looks like the first thing it looks for to use as an identifier is if the EDI Attribute Set has LINEITEM_IDENT_VENDOR_NUMBER enabled. If it does, then it looks to see "if we have a vendor-specific lineitem identifier value". That led me to poking around in the provider profile, and there *is* a tab for Attribute Definitions. Filling out those fields looks kind of esoteric, so I went and looked at Acquisitions>Line Item Marc Attribute Definitions. It doesn't look like it's in stock EG, but in PINES we already had one set with these values:

When you're setting it up in the Midwest provider profile, you want to set it to be Is Identifier=Yes.

Good luck! I'd be interested in hearing how your testing goes, if you're willing to report back.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if there is a way to send the 028$a in the EDI ORDERS message?  This is the identifier that Midwest prefers.  Currently we send either the 020, 024 or 035 but, according to Midwest, the turnaround time is slower.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Christine
