Hi Tessa, I'm sure you'll get other replies with good insights. I just wanted to say that I've been there! I think, in the moment, that now that I figured it out it's so plainly obvious that I will remember how to do it forever more... and then promptly forget it and have to start from zero the next time I have to do the thing. One tip: you create a serials record exactly like you would a book, but in order to get the right 008 fields to appear you make BLvl and 's'. I think you might have to save and reload the record for the new fields to appear. Once you've got the bones in place, you can save a serials template for future new additions to your collection. Hey all, I'm hoping you can help me with a quick question. I need to add a new serial to our collection. I found the Serials Module documentation< https://docs.evergreen-ils.org/docs/latest/serials/C-serials_workflow.html>, but it seems to be missing the first step. It says to "go to a serials record in the catalog, and click on Serials→Manage Subscriptions." This works to add a new subscription to an existing record, but I can't figure out how to create the bibliographic record in the first place. I tried using the Z39.50 import, but none of my searches resulted in existing records to import. I tried creating a new MARC record, but that seems to be book focused, not for serials. What am I missing?
(The part that's driving me crazy is that I DID figure it out a few weeks ago and added a new magazine subscription to the collection, but I forgot how and cannot figure it out again! 😣)
